Sinopsis Drama Hometown (2021):
Hometown berlatar di sebuah kota pedesaan kecil pada tahun 1999 dan berpusat di sekitar seorang detektif polisi bernama Choi Hyung In (diperankan oleh Yoo Jae Myung), yang sedang menyelidiki pembunuhan aneh, dan Jo Jung Hyun (diperankan oleh Han Ye Ri), yang sedang mencari keponakannya yang hilang. Keduanya terlibat dalam insiden dengan teroris bernama Jo Kyung Ho (diperankan oleh Uhm Tae Goo).
Choi Hyung In, seorang detektif polisi di divisi kejahatan kekerasan. 10 tahun sebelumnya, istrinya meninggal dalam serangan teroris. Dia masih belum bisa melupakan kematian istrinya dan dia merasa bersalah atas kematiannya. Suatu hari, dia menyelidiki kasus pembunuhan yang terjadi di sebuah kota kecil. Dia mulai curiga bahwa kasus pembunuhan itu entah bagaimana terkait dengan teroris, yang merenggut nyawa istrinya.
Sekitar 10 tahun yang lalu, kakak laki-laki Jo Jung Hyun mengambil bagian dalam serangan teroris. Setelah itu, hidup Jo Jung Hyun hancur. Dia kemudian dicap sebagai anggota keluarga teroris. Namun, Jo Jung Hyun mampu membangun kembali hidupnya berkat keponakannya, Jo Jae Young (diperankan oleh Lee Re), yang merupakan putri dari kakak laki-lakinya. Keponakannya tiba-tiba hilang dan Jo Jung Hyun berjuang untuk menemukannya.
Jo Kyung Ho, yang telah dipenjara seumur hidup setelah melakukan serangan teroris tanpa pandang bulu. Pada tahun 1989, setelah belajar di Jepang, ia kembali ke kampung halamannya dan melakukan serangan teroris dengan melepaskan gas sarin yang mematikan ke stasiun kereta api. Dia kemudian menyerahkan diri dan dijatuhi hukuman penjara seumur hidup.
